Some couples just get the whole “let’s not take this too seriously” vibe... and Claire and Jordan? They’re it.
We met up in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, the kind of landscape that makes you feel tiny in the best way. They rolled up in the coolest little travel van, the kind that makes you want to throw your phone out the window and live off instant noodles and mountain air forever.
The weather was exactly what you'd expect from Scotland: moody clouds hanging low over the hills, wind doing its wild thing, and the kind of soft, quiet light that makes everything feel cinematic. Honestly? It fit them perfectly.
Claire had this way of tucking her hair behind her ears mid-laugh while the wind blew it right back out again. Jordan kept cracking jokes and pretending not to shiver when the wind picked up, but then he'd pull her in closer like it was all part of the plan. I just tagged along, camera in hand, trying to keep up with their energy and trying not to fall over in the mud (jury's still out on whether I succeeded).
We ran barefoot through the tall grass, climbed a few questionable rocks, and hung out with their van like it was an old friend. They danced (very badly, by their own admission), shared a thermos of something hot, and at one point just stood there soaking it all in, arms wrapped around each other, wind howling like a soundtrack written just for them.
It didn’t feel like a photoshoot. It felt like a day they’ll remember long after the photos are printed.
This is why I do what I do. Not for the perfectly posed. Not for the polished moments. But for the wind-in-your-face, boots-off, let's-just-be-here kind of stories.
